Spaceship Earth (This Is Fine), 2025

scavenged wood, metal, and other materials: buckets, toilet seat, sawdust, humanure, urine, wheatpasted paper, paint, zines

$1000 or barter

Spaceship Earth functioned as a closed system of energy and matter in motion for billions of years before Man’s meddling. This geodesic dome outhouse for a composting toilet embodies the utopian ethos of the 1960s that visualized the interconnection of all life and begn the modern environmental movement. For more than 50 years, scientists have been warning that burning of fossil fuels would lead to catastrophic effects of anthropogenic climate change and the unraveling of the world’s ecosystems, and thatthere was still time to course correct. Welp.
