A Stanford immunologist tells me that coronavirus was too perfectly engineered — unlike a wild virus, every nucleotide matches a human target. Topiary is the landscape equivalent of this spherical geometry, designer plants under excess control. This sculpture takes Jolly Roger, the pirate battle emblem, on a roll.
