Inhumation presents a monumental funeral procession tag, objects placed on a car rearview mirror during the procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. The oddly minimalist mobile towers over viewers and the word “FUNERAL” presents the essence of the object and ritual, defamiliarizing and abstracting how we memorialize and grieve. Hanging the object in a tree comments on death being an essential element of nature; it is as natural as birth, change, and adaptation.
