Relegated to vintage status by the ubiquity, convenience, and diminutive stature of bluetooth speakers, the rock speaker remains a charming reminder of our wish to seamlessly merge the modern experience with nature. Made in homage to this impossible fantasy, Rock Speaker is a scaled up version suitable for human occupancy which calls to mind many beloved forms of fake rock: Star Trek cave interiors, utility box covers, foam boulders, and key hiders. Up close, viewers can have the intimate experience of hearing the sounds emanating from within.
